In 1917 while World War 1 was raging and just before the Russian Communist Revolution started the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared each month to three children at Fatima, Portugal. Over 70,000 people witnessed the miracle of the sun on October 13, 1917. The archives of the Portuguese newspaper articles that reported this can still be viewed.
In the late 50's when I was a kid I watched a black and white version of a Warner Brothers production of The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima. Since then it has had color put to it and has been uploaded to YouTube by BASIMNASSER in these 12 parts below. I'm sure you will enjoy this movie as I have.

Supposedly another 20,000 not at the site where Virgin Mary was said to make her final appearance also witness the event.
I was just watching a History Channel special on Lady Fatima and thought it was pretty intriguing considering her prophecy.
It was very compelling and though I don't know if it really happened... obviously something did happen and I find it more plausible that it did happen then not because of the other 20,000 people not in the vicinity who also witnessed the account without knowing about the woman's account of the Virgin Mary.
Darn I don't get the History Channel. I'd like to see that. Yeah I've read besides the 70,000 that were at the site apparently the miracle of the sun was seen for 20 or 30 miles around there. Thanks Sandra.
There's a Marian shrine about 40 miles west of where I live in Ontario where people have seen the miracle of the sun. People seen it for about 20 miles around it too.

Yes diyon, let peace be on the earth. Mary is the key to peace. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. Actually Mary is the virgin. We can love and be devoted to the Blessed Virgin but adoration should be reserved for God alone.
You must be from the middle east seeing you used the word gennies, I'm sure it has the same meaning as demons. I'm not sure whether you are a Muslim or not but I know Muslims also show love and have great respect for Mother Mary and believe in the virgin birth of Jesus.
I also know that Mohamed's daughter was named Fatima. If you are wondering why this area of Spain where Mary was seen by the 3 shepard children is called Fatima I can give you the short version of the story. Apparently a Prince of Aragon and a Muslim girl named Fatima fell in love with each other. When the Moors left Spain Fatima stayed and was married to the Prince of Aragon. The Prince loved Fatima so much he named the area after her.
So to me it seems that Mary coming to Fatima, Spain with her message is not just for Christians but speaks to Muslims and the whole world too.
If you know anyone that is being troubled with gennies tell them to say be gone in the name of Jesus Christ. These prayers will help too.

Have you any views on Garabandal?-many seem to feel the prophesies are imminent i.e. the warning.I would be interested in your perspective.
Hi itakins. How's everything in Ireland? To tell you the truth I've heard the name Garabandal but up until you mentioned it I've never read anything about the apparitions there. I've just watched a couple of videos on it and read this page, http://www.garabandal.org/story.shtml
You would think Garabandal and different apparitions of Mary, like in Croatia, Japan, VietNam, Egypt, Rwanda and others would be publicized more, wouldn't you? Like Fatima there always seems to be a warning. Many of the warnings that Our Lady of Fatima warned the world about in 1917 have come true, Communism and World War II being the most prominent.
Conchita of Garabandal wrote: "The warning comes directly from God and will be visible to the whole world and from any place where anyone may happen to be. It will be like the revelation of our sins and it will be seen and felt by everyone, believer and unbeliever alike irrespective of whatever religion he may belong to. It will be seen and felt in all parts of the world and by every person."
That should grab some attention when it comes. With Garabandal happening in the early 1960s Mary's message to priests and bishops is rather striking, isn't it itakins?

Garabandal is on many peoples' minds here at the moment-so many things have happened as predicted.Joey,the blind man in now old 80 ish -and he is to have his site restored at the Miracle-which will come within a year of the warning.
With all that's going on in the world-I think we need to be prepared:)

It looks like Garabandal is a continuation of Fatima. Maybe the period of peace that Our Lady spoke about at Fatima will start after the Garabandal warning and miracle. I haven't read all of the Garabandal site yet or watched all the videos on it. Is Joey a guy in your area?

Hi itakins. I watched a video series on Garabandal that said that Joey was the guy that had his sense of smell returned when Padre Pio blessed him. It's cool that Padre Pio recommended that Joey go to Garabandal. I just might have to make another hub with this video series on Garabandal seeing it's a continuation of Fatima.

I remember my aunt talking about Bernadette when I was young but I don't remember watching The Song of Bernadette with Jennifer Jones. So I looked for it on Youtube. The first video of a 16 part series of the movie 'The Song of Bernadette' is posted below. If you click the arrow on the bottom left it will take you to the other parts of the movie.
